The conflict resolution efforts promoted by the CRU require systematic and effective capacity building support. By using a mutual learning approach, CRU continues to develop a learning ecosystem which among others provides basic training for mediator certification, intermediary training that focuses on multi-stakeholder conflicts and advanced thematic training that focuses on specific communities related to policy issues or specific conflict areas. Another way of capacity building that is also provided is to offer opportunities for prospective mediators or novice mediators to participate as interns in the conflict management processes managed by senior mediators.
