Engagement

CRU seeks to gain public trust in mediation as an effective approach to resolving land conflicts over natural resources through the involvement of various parties, and proactive and targeted outreach.

The involvement of stakeholders, namely regional and central policy makers, civil society organizations, the community of mediation practitioners, the business actors, and development partners, are the key to achieving resolutions of land and natural resource conflicts that can be accepted and implemented by the parties. Agreements that are recognized and respected by the parties will be the starting point of transformation of better relations between the parties.

Meanwhile, a proactive and targeted outreach strategy ensures the active involvement of interested parties in the mediation process for resolving land and natural resource conflicts in Indonesia. The outreach enables CRU to work with partners to facilitate the opening up of spaces for dialogue among regional and central policy makers, civil society organizations, the community of mediation practitioners, business actors, and development partners, and encourage the creation of learning spaces for all parties to gain lessons and best practices in mediating land and natural resource conflicts.
