Public Policy Mediation

If the main issue of a conflict is identified as stemming from a collision between different policies, then one alternative that could be considered is initiating a policy mediation process. If the problem is a collision in the implementation of activities based on different interpretations of policies, the policy mediation can take the form of a process of coordinating and synchronizing policies between implementing agencies facilitated by a mediator. Of course, policy conflicts involving executive decisions are easier to mediate as it only involves authorized executive officials. Policy mediation involving the legislature will certainly be a challenge.
