To uphold values that are believed to reflect mediation’s best practices, CRU facilitates the mediation of natural resource and land conflicts as pilot projects. These pilot projects will provide real illustrations on how mediation is carried out to develop agreements in resolving various natural and land resource conflicts.

To date, CRU pilot projects have been about conflicts related to the palm oil plantation and forest concession. Pilot projects were started in the second year of CRU in mid-2017. Until the end of 2018, CRU has contributed to the resolution of conflicts between four companies and surrounding communities by opening communication between the parties, and mediating negotiations and facilitating joint planning.
